You will increase the power of your Local in negotiating for you and fighting for adjunct rights. 

You will  able to attend our Annual Awards Dinner for free.  A savings of $40!.

The membership dues is only about $1 a paycheck for adjunct teaching 3 credits.

You can run for union office and vote for union officers and union contracts. You can participate in formulating union policies at the local, state and national levels. .

Eligibility for a wide array of AFT + benefits .  These benefits include insurance, limited medical plan and vision program, dental plan, legal and financial services, travel and entertainment, shopping, scholarships and loan forgiveness programs.  More detail on these services can be found on the national Aft website http://www.aft.org/benefits/

Coverage by the AFT Occupational Liability Policy provides protection for claims arising out of professional employment activity.  This insurance provides up to $1,000,000 for each member per occurrence for damages arising out of bodily injury or property damage.   The policy also provides up to $1,000,000 of protection for each member for damages arising out of personal injury,  libel, slander, defamation and violation of the right to privacy.

Free $10,000 one year term life insurance policy for first year of membership.
